디자인랜디아는 초등학교 중학교 학생들에게 읽기, 쓰기, 어휘 학습 뿐만 아니라 스스로 사고를 디자인할 수 있는 힘을 심어줍니다. 수업 시간에, 아이들은 팀을 이루어  해결책을 설계함으로써 현실 세계의 문제들을 파악하고 해결하는 법을 배웁니다. 그런 다음 각 팀들은 다른 학생들에게 해결책을 발표하여 피드백을 얻고 자신의 해결책을 개선합니다. 우리는 궁극적으로 이러한 해결책들 중 일부가 현실에서 널리 사용될 수 있기를 바랍니다.
 

실현 방법

 

우리는 학생들의 올바른 행동과 높은 학업 수준을 지향하도록 하는 한편, 학생들에게 존중과 친절의 바람직한 본보기를 제공함으로써 심리적 안전을 형성합니다. 이러한 환경에서 학생들은 보다 창의적이고 자신의 생각에 대한 자신감을 얻게 됩니다. 한 반에 8명의 학생들만 있기 때문에, 우리는 그들이 필요로 하는 지원을 하기 위해 각각의 학생들에게 더 집중할 수 있습니다.

우리는 아이들이 세상을 바꿀 힘이 있다고 믿고, 그러한 아이들에게 더 나은 삶과 세상을 만들 수 있는 방법을 가르치며  자신감을 심어주고 싶습니다.

What do we do?

​

Designlandia teaches 2nd - 6th grade elementary school and middle school students the design thinking process in addition to reading, writing, and vocabulary instruction. In class, kids learn to work in teams to identify and solve real-world issues by designing clever solutions. Teams then present their solutions to an audience to get feedback and then improve on their solutions. We hope that some of these solutions will eventually be used by people in the real world. 

 

How do we do it?

We create psychological safety by modeling respect and kindness while also holding our students to a high behavioral and academic standard. In this environment, students become more creative and gain confidence in their own thinking. With only eight students in a class, we can focus more attention on each student to give them the support they need.

Why did we create Designlandia?

​

We believe that kids have the power to change the world and we want to give them the tools and the confidence to make lives better.
